Gimme A Hand Zine 001

Gimme A Hand is a collection of photographs captured at Gimme A Reason, our monthly Queer dance party that takes place at Poorboys Bar in New Orleans, Louisiana. In lieu of typical party photographs or staged portraits, I attempt to capture candid moments of the diverse cross section of party goer’s hands. Hands themselves are a portrait of a unique individual, a portal into their story. They tell a story, they tell stories, they embellish stories. They are tools, they help us relate to ourselves and connect with others. They cast spells, pick flowers, and blow kisses. Hands are magic. The photographs are accompanied by a generous observation and
contemplation by my dear friend Owen Ever.
The full color 6inx9in zine was printed at Paper Machine Press in New Orleans, LA and was included in the solo exhibition of the photographs at Alone Time Gallery in New Orleans, LA.
